ABOUT

Nervous Nikki and the Chill Pills is band based in the suburbs of Philly led by drummer and vocalist Nicole Bauza. Sonically, they orbit in a unique asteroid belt of influences; a seldom seen place where rock and roll, hip hop, and folk music float together in unison. Together Nicole, Nathan, Doug, and Kendal bring you punchy bass lines, melodic guitar riffs, and group singing powered by raw emotion.

“There’s a chance one of these days I’m gonna write a hit song // And in the car while you’re driving you’ll be singing along // And there’s a chance the we’re never gonna make it // I ‘ll be happy by myself singing these songs down in the basement,” we hear in Here and Gone. As far as I’m concerned, several of these tunes should become hits – this album goes far beyond mediocrity. -Add to Wantlist

“Nervous Nikki and the Chill Pills and the gloriously manic indie rock plea of "Day Off" is something we all need more of.” - American Pancake

“An anthem for being average. That is what indie rock band Nervous Nikki and the Chill Pills have written with their new single “Mediocre at Best”. The self-deprecating song finds singer Nicole Bauza wailing about being “halfway to ten” over breezy guitars and backing vocals. The song is relatable to anyone who feels stuck not being special, and the band has shot a humorous clip to go with the song.” - The Indy Review

“Bauza maintains careful control of the listener’s emotions with her writing. On “Lao Tzu,” from “Watch the Petals Drop,” a panicked rap verse dissolves away to the song’s laid-back chorus as Bauza takes a deep breath and the instrumentals shift from claustrophobic to beachy.” - The Temple News
